Create crossing facility for pedestrians at Crowwood |
Create pedestrian crossing for children attending St Barbara's primary school. |
Formal crossing point. |
Zebra crossing. |
Formal crossing to join to refuge island. |
Formal crossing point to link to refuge island. |
Make a formal crossing across Cumbernauld Road from Woodhead Road across towards Crowwood |
Add a pedestrian crossing on Station Road that can be used by school kids and parents. Further mitigating the need for using the crossing at either end of Station Road (Muirhead Inn/Drumcavel Roundabout). The crossing points at Drumcavel roundabout are not suitable for safe crossing given the volume of traffic. |
Improvements to the traffic island in centre of road to make it safer for pedestrians, especially schoolchildren. |

Explore option to make the bow wow path usable by bike to link up strathkelvin railway path. The current pavement along gartferry road isn’t suitable to cycle on as too narrow and often cuttings from the hedges make it difficult. Or another option would be a cycle path in the field next to the road. |
Improve the connection of the strathkelvin railway walk to Avenuehead Road towards A80. You exit the path onto a 60mph road with a couple of hills/corners with reduced visibility. Construction of a pavement/path alongside hedgerows to join pavements towards A80, would really make this a much safer walk. |

Formalise access to parking close to commercial centre. |
Time restricted loading bay. |
Cars park everywhere and anywhere needs formalised |
Reduce the width of the new pavement here. This would widen the road to allow cars to park without having to park on pavement. This would allow more fluid movement of cars especially at peak times |
With regard to the no parking on pavements law, are the council able help in some way with people planning to park on their own property now. i.e. help with planning permission, help financially with lowering the kerbs where needed? This would help hugely with the problems that will be encountered when the law is enforced. |
Cars are constantly parked on double yellows and bus stops. Narrow pavement outside sops and create spaces that cars can park perpendicular to pavement. Will increase capacity. Enforcement of parking on double yellows. |
Create some additional parking spaces to front of the clinic to ease parking on the street. |
there needs to be more done about the parking on this road at collins butcher. This is constantky a bottleneck and dangerous for pedestrians and motorists. One side has had bollards put in and the same should be done on the other side to prevent this happening. |

Revise timing of traffic lights so that during peak times is operates in a cycle. This should reduce traffic backing up Lindsaybeg Road due to drivers waiting to turn right |
Review of traffic management from Lindsaybeg Road, onto Cumbernauld Road, onto Station road. These lights and road layout do not work as they should. Filter lanes are often blocked, parked cars cause obstructions. On occasions where lights have not been working the flow of traffic is far better. Perhaps one or two roundabouts might work better. |
Filter lights would be beneficial to permitting better traffic flow, access for local residents to their driveways and most importantly to reduce pollution around the school area produced by standing traffic |
The current lights at the intersection between Main Street and Lindsaybeg Road are cause conjestion issues between school start and finishing hours but also during peak rush hour with people returning home from work. The issue appears to be with the lights not having a filter for cars heading north on Lindsaybeg Road to be able to turn right onto Main Street. If one car wants to turn right, it holds up the rest behind. So in effect, one car at a time can get through due to the lights changing. Could a right turn filter be added? |
I was advised that the timing/frequency of the traffic lights here was altered recently due to an incident where a school child was knocked down. However the lights need monitoring again: A. The green man doesn't show for long enough. B. When the green man disappears, there is a huge delay before the lights change to green. This is now causing worse tailbacks than ever at peak times, on an already busy road. I have witnessed cars mounting an already narrow pavement trying to overtake other cars. I also strongly believe that a filter is required to allow cars to turn right into Main Street from Lindsaybeg Road. Other people in the area also feel the same. |

Review location of speed limit sign. |
Suggested 20mph zone. |
Permanently reduce the permitted travelling speed of vehicles on Station Road (Both sides of the roundabout) top 20MPH. |
There is a 20mph sign coming off the roundabout yet some drivers think it's okay to do 50/60mph between the roundabout and the entrance to Belhaven Park or Haining Wynd. There are mothers and children on the pavement and cars such as my own emerging from driveways. |
consideration to be given to the development of traffic one way systems |
Add speed reduction measures on Main Street |
This road needs to have some sort ofspeed restriction measures put in to prevent cars using it as a race track. This is constantly a danger to the kids that use this road going to school. |

Placement of more bollards at the top of Lindsaybeg Road and Cumbernauld Road, to ensure pavement is clear of cars on both sides. Currently pavements are blocks by cars |
People are ramping the pavement to park their cars to get to the butchers and other local shops. This can cause issues for drivers and pedestrians. It is an accident waiting to happen. Either bollards or double yellow lines are needed to deter parking in this area. There is suitable parking nearby. |
Traffic Issues/Volume at Peak Times - butchers/DK Motors |
Have one way system on Fleming Avenue and Knowe Road so that traffic flows easier. One, one way towards Cumbernauld Road and the other towards Campsie View. |

Construct relief road from Gartcosh to Stepps |
Proper pavements needed. |
Reopen rail link at Garnkirk station |
Protect, manage and improve all green space around the area. Replace older play areas |
Give way at the entrance to Muirhead from A80 (Crowwood). Signs missing and road markings unclear. People fail to slow or stop. |
connect estate to Woodielee Road to reduce unnecessary traffic flow through village |
Replace bin opposite Crowwood Riding Centre, or somewhere near. Bin has been transferred to the other side of Woodhead Park, but rubbish and poo bags are just being thrown into the tree/bush line just before the estate. |
Place a new rubbish bin here. There’s nothing to put poo bags in as you come into the estate, or any other rubbish, resulting in it being thrown onto the grass. |
